Mr. Jimmy Lee Mitchell passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his residence in Bay City, Michigan, with his son by his side. Age 61 years. Jimmy was born in West Helena, Arkansas, by way of Saginaw, Michigan, to Elizabeth Harmon-Mitchell and Alex Mitchell, Jr.
Jimmy received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Delta College. Jimmy began his professional career as a Chef in various restaurants in the Tri-Cities, followed by a series of security jobs. For the past 20 years, he has worked as a Direct Support Professional with Lutheran Child and Family Services.
Jimmy enjoyed taking care of his children and grandchildren, fishing, and was an avid movie buff. He also enjoyed taking apart and fixing electronics, cars, cooking, and traveling. He was family-oriented.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory four sons and six daughters, Jimmie Trevino (Ruby), Sheila Mitchell (Ashley), Aleshia Huff, Miraha Huff, Richard Eisler, Jordan Hardy, Jullian Mitchell, Sr. (Courtney), Elizabeth, Alexzandriea, and Isabella Mitchell; mother, Elizabeth Harmon-Mitchell; grandchildren, Julissa, Jakaylee, and Summer Trevino, Brielle and Brisyn Mitchell, Armony and Amorah Huff, Hendrixx, Jeramias and Isla Hardy, Juelz Gray, and Jullian Mitchell, Jr.; two sisters and one brother, Alex Mitchell, Diane Mitchell-Simon (Darrell), and LaToya Beeman-Edwards (Maurice); many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Alex Mitchell, Jr., and two brothers, Freddie and Moses Mitchell.
The family would like to express special thanks to Lisa Neal and all the staff of Residential Home Health and Hospice for the care you gave to our father, and the support you gave to Jullian and Courtney as we cared for Jimmy in our home.
