Jimmy Shelton

Mr. James Carl "Jimmy" Shelton, Jr., 57, of Carrollton, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1968 in Pascagoula to James Carl Shelton, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Nelson Shelton. Jimmy was a 1987 graduate of J.Z. George High School and earned an Associates Degree from Holmes Community College in Maintenance Technology as well as additional training in Machining. Jimmy spent most of his working life as a machinist and a metal fabricator. Hunting, fishing and woodworking were among his favorite hobbies. Best known as "Tiny" by many of his friends, Jimmy was a natural jokester and loved keeping those around him laughing. Jimmy was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Joseph Sansing officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Carroll County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 36 ½ years, Marie Shelton; mother, Libbey Shelton of Carrollton; two daughters, Amanda Shelton and Jessica Shaw(Todd) of Elliott; son, Charles Shelton of Carrollton; sister, Cyndi Ashley of Carrollton; brother, Marlon Shelton(Sharla) of Carrollton; twin grandchildren, James and Emory Shaw as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Charles Shelton, Ethan Shelton, Riley Shelton, Mason Shelton, Wayne Jones and Marlon Shelton.
