Jimmy S. "Jimmy" Shelton

James S. "Jimmy" Shelton, 73, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at UofL Health-Jewish, Louisville, KY.
He was the owner of Shelton's Excavating, a business that contributed to the growth and development of the local area. His dedication to his craft was paralleled only by his commitment to his community, as evidenced by his 11-year tenure on the Hardin County Water District No. 1 Board, where he served with distinction as treasurer. Jimmy's passion for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who found joy in the serene landscapes that he worked so tirelessly to protect and preserve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. & Flora Virginia Shelton.
Survivors include one sister, Kathleen Shelton; one niece, Christy Case (Brent) & their children, Kellen, Everett, Aidan; one nephew, William Douglass; a son, Joe Snyder (Sandy); two grandchildren, Ethan, Dustin; one aunt, JoAnne Eldridge (J.C.); extended family, John Snyder (Donna), Jim Snyder.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2025 at Robinette Funeral Home, Jonesville, VA. Following the visitation, A graveside service will be held at the Miller Chapel Cemetery, Jonesville, Virginia where is parents are laid to rest.
