Jimmy Clayton Hudson Sr., 84, USAF Veteran of Clarkton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. He leaves behind son, Jimmy Clayton Hudson Jr., daughter Betsy Helms (Jason), all of Bladenboro and four grandchildren, Staci Helms, Jason Lynn Helms III, Courtney Briana Hudson, and Brycen Blackmon. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wade Hudson Sr. and Betty Goodrich Hudson, his wife Myra Jeanne Hudson, one grandchild Jason Lynn Helms Jr., siblings, J.W. Hudson, Jerry Hudson, Lois Wright, Nellie Sullivan, and Ruby Weathington.
Jimmy was a comedian, he enjoyed telling jokes and just cutting up with everyone. He cherished his family, love to brag about each of them every chance he got. He enjoyed his summer trips with the grandchildren, venturing out with his children and planning the Hudson family reunions. Jimmy also loved a good auction. A proud veteran who could tell you a story or two of his time in service. He will be most remembered for his hard exterior but a heart of gold.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown at 12 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Rev. J. W. Melvin will be officiating. Services will conclude in the Clarkton Cemetery.
