Jimmy Don Stonecipher, affectionately known as "Jim", residing in Virginia Beach, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2024, at the US Naval Hospital in Portsmouth. Jim was born on June 16, 1964, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Ruby J. Day (Fisher) and Donald R. Stonecipher.
On February 14, 1987, Jim married Paula Dunham of Barre, Vermont. At the time both were serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in San Diego, California. Jim is survived by his wife Paula Stonecipher and sons Brian Stonecipher (New Port News), Marc Stonecipher (Virginia Beach) and daughter Chelsea Stonecipher (Virginia Beach). He is also survived by his mother Ruby Day (North Carolina), brothers Ernie Stonecipher and wife Brandi (North Carolina), Marty Stonecipher and wife Aimee (Colorado) and stepbrother Rusty Day and wife Lynnell (Texas), step sister Deeann Cook and husband Ricky (Texas) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
He was pre-deceased by his father Donald R. Stonecipher, his stepfather Norman (Dusty) Day and his mother in-law Jeannine Dunham.
Jim proudly served his country as a dedicated member of the United States Navy for 20 years. Following his retirement from the military in 2002, he remained in the communications field, where he spent the next 22 years working with Allied Technology Group (ATG), which later converged with ManTech International. His dedication to his work was evident in his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic throughout his career. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, camping and he was an avid Ham Radio enthusiast. Send FlowersPlant a Tree
