It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jimmy Ray Webb, who left us on March 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on January 15, 1948, in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Jimmy lived a life full of adventure and warmth, making Gastonia, NC, his home.
Known for his big heart and friendly spirit, Jimmy was a beloved figure to many. He worked as a welder in the commercial construction industry, where his skills and dedication shone through. Though he didn't earn a formal diploma, his life was rich with experiences and the love of those around him.
Jimmy had a deep passion for motorcycles, and he found joy in riding through the mountains, feeling the wind in his hair and the freedom of the open road. He was a spiritual man, appreciating the beauty of the outdoors and the simple moments spent with family. He had a special affinity for children, always eager to share stories and laughter with them.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Timothy Loftis, grandchildren, Madison Loftis, Katrina Loftis and Chloe Loftis, several nieces and nephews, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and love.
A celebration of life service will be held in the coming weeks to remember and honor the spirit of an incredible man.
Though he may no longer be with us, Jimmy's memory will forever remain in our hearts. Ride on, Jimmy. You'll be missed.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. Webb and Adelle Cudd Webb, wife, Penny Webb, siblings, Roger Webb, Steve Webb, Robert Webb, Linda Webb, Shirley Hodge, and Frieda Webb.
The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is serving the Webb family. Condolences may be shared online at: www.greenefuneral.com.
