Obituary for Jimmy Dwight Wilcher, Sr.
Jimmy Dwight Wilcher, Sr., 73, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home.
Jimmy was born in Carthage, Mississippi on June 9, 1952. As a retired Major from the Army National Guard, his greatest honor was serving his country and he never failed to speak fondly of the brothers with whom he served. His service will be remembered with military funeral honors. Jimmy's life's work in the garment manufacturing industry was filled with accomplishments and had a long-lasting impact on his life and the lives of others. His career in the manufacturing industry always led to many fabulous stories and famous friends. Jimmy's greatest loves were his wife and his family.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lori; sons Jimmy D. Wilcher, Jr. (Cyndi), Rodney Wilcher, Bo Wilcher (Abbe), Grant Wilcher, Ashton Wilcher; daughters Alex McHan (Connor), Ella Wilcher, and London Wilcher; grandchildren Shelby Wilcher, Stefani Horne (Stephen), Destiny Wilcher, Tanner Wilcher (Kayla), Terrel Lee Wilcher (Chantel), Delylah Wilcher; great grandchildren Greyson Wilcher, Kaysen Walker, Lawtyn Wilcher, Winston Wilcher, Remington Wilcher, and Emersyn Wilcher; siblings Robin Stone (Steve) and Rusty Wilcher (Teresa); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bobby Cecil Wilcher and Doris Wilcher White, and one son, Daniel Mark Wilcher.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church in Carthage, Mississippi, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A memorial service honoring Jimmy's life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church at 10:00 am with burial to follow at New County Line Baptist Church in Edinburg.
