Jo Ann Bryant

Jo Ann Bryant, 71 of Sims went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 28, 2022. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Union Chapel OFWB Church, 10748 Bissette Road, Middlesex. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her nephew, Robert Armstrong.

Jo Ann was a wonderful woman of God who loved and served him faithfully. She was very active in her church, leading the Ladies Fellowship and singing. After retirement from the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles, she volunteered with Meals on wheels, spent time going to the flea markets, working in her garden, and lending a helping hand to others in need. Jo Ann was truly an inspiration, quick to make everyone laugh and feel at ease. Jo Ann was dearly loved by her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, she was the glue that held us together.

Jo Ann is survived by her sister, Eva Lamm, and numerus nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Charity Lee Bryant; sisters, Ilda Bryant, Louise Measley, Belma Armstrong, and Gloria Williams; brothers, Lervy Bryant, and Jimmy Bryant, and her best friend and sister in Christ, Lois McKenzie.
