Jo Ann Griffey, 89 of Metropolis, IL, formerly of St. Charles, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Jo Ann worked for many years at Dickey Manufacturing in St. Charles, IL. She attended Brookport Church of God for many years and enjoyed crosswords and singing. Jo Ann was a very social person and loved people in general, but she had a special place in her heart for taking care of children. She would do anything for anyone and is going to be sorely missed.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Judy Smith and husband Scott; "adopted" daughter, Sandra Lassy; special nephew, Steve LaPradd as well as many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Bolen and Lennie Mae (Taylor) Bolen; husband of 57 years, Alfred R. Griffey; two brothers, Carroll Bolen and William Bolen.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 3rd from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
