Jo Ann Miller

Jo Ann (Brown) Miller, age 93, passed away peacefully in Madison, Alabama, on January 4, 2026. Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on October 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James Butler Brown and Ellen Marie (Neighbors) Brown.
Jo Ann was a natural caregiver whose life was defined by her service to others. She spent her career providing comfort and companionship, rotating between her roles as a live-in aide to the elderly and a devoted nanny. Her patience and nurturing spirit touched many lives over the years.
In her retirement, Jo Ann found her greatest joy in her family. She was a constant presence in the lives of her daughters and grandchildren. She never lost her sense of adventure, famously enjoying motorcycle rides with her grandson, Jason-a testament to her vibrant spirit and love for life.
She is survived by her three daughters: Kathryn Yates of Hot Springs, AR; Kristi Edwards of Huntsville, AL; and Cody Remsing of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Vernon Franklin Brown.Jo Ann's legacy continues through her ten grandchildren: Don (JR) Yates, Michael Yates, Marna Yates, Katrina (Yates) Scott, Sondra (Edwards) Mayfield, Patrick (Jason) Edwards, Jennifer (Edwards) Freeland, Kaylyn (Remsing) Alessandro, Jaclyn Remsing, and Karyn Remsing. She also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren: Zachary Yates, David Yates, Grace Yates, Kolten Graves, Jasten Graves, Haven Murray, Fenix Scott, Madison Simpson, Tanner Mayfield, Adrian Freeland, and Victor Alessandro, as well as two beloved great-great-grandchildren, Parker and River Murray.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Vinnie Brown, Marie Ellen Kovaleski, Mildred Lee Terry, Mary Margaret Burris, and Brenda Brown; and her brothers: David Paul Brown, Clarence Joseph Brown, William Curtis Brown, and James Riley Brown.
Jo Ann will be remembered as a woman who gave selflessly to her family and her community, leaving behind a trail of warmth and cherished memories.
A visitation followed by services will be held at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home at 155 Section Line Rd, Hot Springs, AR on Monday January 12th at 11:00 AM.
