Joan C. Angelo

Orlando - Joan Carol Angelo (75) joined her daughter (Jennifer) in heaven on June 16, 2021. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Joan was a most devoted spouse and a very loving mother, who took great pleasure in raising her children. For 20 years, she also served the country as a dedicated military spouse, keeping a family of three young children running smoothly despite many long temporary-duty separations. Joan returned to school later in life and graduated from Rollins College (Brevard Campus) in 2004, after which she began pursuing her lifelong passion as an elementary school teacher. Over the next15 years, she became affectionately known as "Mrs. A" by her numerous young students, many of whose lives she helped shape and positively influence. She was an avid reader, enjoyed viewing art and visiting museums, and was particularly fond of the Impressionist painters. Joan also provided special care and loving attention to rescued dogs and cats, one of whom Mandy (a pug) now misses her dearly. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph, and her two adult sons: Joseph and James.

The mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus on July 6 at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that you donate to St Jude Children's Hospital.
