Joan Mary Bonitz (nee Vincent), age 92, passed peacefully in her home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania on March 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born to Alice Mary (nee McGuire) and William J. Vincent on August 23, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1949 where she was a cheerleader. She is predeceased by Howard E. Bonitz, her beloved husband for 58 years and her brother, William J. Vincent, Jr (Joan).
Joan was immensely proud of her family leaving a legacy of love, devotion, and service. She is survived by her daughter, Alison M. Conlon (Stephen); son, Richard H. Bonitz (Lynn); five grandchildren, Stephen W. Conlon (Tara), Marielle J. Conlon, Evan H. Conlon (Erica), Ryan Elizabeth Bonitz (Jake Gonsalves), and Erin Bonitz; and four great-grandchildren, Stephen and Madelyn Conlon, James Conlon Raab, and little baby Conlon due in May.
Joan loved to cook and was an avid golfer, but most of all Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother “nanny”. She took great pride in her home, family, and friends in East Williston, New York, and enjoyed winters with Howard on Marco Island, Florida. Joan was a devoted Roman Catholic and brought her children up in the faith. Hers was a life well lived, and she will be sadly missed.
You are invited to Joan's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45AM at Church of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. Interment will be private.
