Joan A. Zenk Brockway, age 87, of Adrian, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at Lynwood Manor under the wonderful care of Great Lakes Hospice. She was born December 2, 1927, in Berkey, Ohio to John A. and Lucy H. (Simon) Zenk. On September 17, 1955, she married Lawrence "Larry" Brockway, and he survives. She enjoyed reading. Joan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by a daughter, Marianne (Kevin) Magee of Adrian; two sons, Larry Brockway of Surprise, Arizona and John (Lois) Brockway of Hudson; six grandchildren, Kari (Rob) Curtis, Scott Magee, Sherry (Bryan) Ramsdell, Shelly (Brett) White, Stacey (Harold) Wilkes and Michael Brockway; a great-grandson, Caleb; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Monica Ott of Sylvania, Ohio and Mary Ellen Frame of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Zenk Jr.; and two sisters, Kathleen Carr and Alice Batey. The Funeral Liturgy for Joan will be offered Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish with Fr. Shaun Lowery as celebrant. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday from 9:30- 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. A family prayer service with Fr. Shaun Lowery will be held at 10:15 a.m. followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
