Joan was a warm and caring woman who was always willing to go the extra mile for a person in need. I met Joan through FISH. Her dedication to that organization inspired my volunteer work.
Joan has earned her eternal rest, She left us with lots of memories and laughter. She will live forever through those whose lives she touched.

We have happy memories of your mother (grandmother). She had a beautiful smile. And many words of wisdom. There is so little we can say at a time of loss like this; but, know that our hearts go out to you.

Very sorry to hear; we interacted for many years with her - as a teacher of our children and as a (volunteer!) colleague. Always cheerful, always thinking of the students - challenging them but, even more so, caring for them. She will be greatly missed. Our sincere condolences.

Mrs. Callaghan or Ms. Joan as I called her, was one of the most spiritual, caring, kind, and just fun to be around persons I ever meeting. I will miss her.

My heart is heavy hearing about Joan's passing. I loved that Joan kept her family close with the love she had for them. Coming from a close-knit family that lives many miles away, I had such respect for Joan and her family gathering at St. Helena's Second Sunday breakfast each month. Joan always had a smile on her face and a skip in her step and I'm sure that hasn't changed in heaven! Rest in peace, my friend. xo

Mrs. Callaghan was one of the most influential teachers I had over the course of my school years. She helped shape who I am today and I truly believe my career choice of accountant had much to do with her. I have the utmost respect for her as a teacher and a person. She will be truly missed. Prayers to all of her family during this rough time.

Peggy and Joe,
So sorry to read of Joan's passing. I still remember when she "directed" us in our one act plays for St. Peter's over 50 years ago. What a great person. I was happy to know her. My thoughts and prayers to the family. Freddy Episcopo Rehoboth beach.
