Joan Karen Capesius

Joan Karen Capesius, 84, passed away on March 16, 2026, in Medford, OR. Born on April 21, 1941, Joan dedicated her career to the field of pharmacy, working at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs before retiring in her early 60s. She graduated from Colorado University College of Pharmacy, nurturing a lifelong passion for healthcare and service.

Joan was a beloved member of the Broadmoor Community Church, where she participated actively in community services and events. Her warm-hearted nature and bright smile were cherished by all who knew her. She enjoyed going on walks with friends, playing mah-jongg, and bridge. Joan loved the company of friends and family, always bringing joy and laughter into their lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Clair-Horn; son-in-law, Russell Horn; grandson, Ian Horn; granddaughter, Chelsea Horn; and son, Stephen Clair. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Capesius.

Joan will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. While there will be no services, the family suggests that contributions in Joan's memory be made to the American Cancer Society. Joan's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the vibrant memories she leaves behind.
