Leonard Walch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reeder-Davis Funeral Home- Hughes Springs on Mar. 30, 2026.
Leonard Loyd Walch, 81, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on March 28, 2026.

Leonard was born on August 10, 1944, in Medford, Oregon, to Loyd Walch and Maude Comstock. He was a simple man, humble and hardworking, who dedicated much of his life to providing for his family. He worked in the wood mills of Oregon, where he raised his three daughters and built a life centered on love, faithfulness, and hard work.

Leonard had a lifelong love of sports, especially basketball, which he played during his school years. He later passed that love on to his daughters, teaching them to play and creating treasured memories of their time together on the court. He deeply loved being with his family and enjoyed camping, riding bikes, and sharing life's simple pleasures with those he loved most.

It was easy to see how much Leonard loved and cared for his wife and daughters. His devotion to his family was evident in the way he lived and in the quiet, steady presence he gave to those around him.

In time, the family moved from Oregon to Texas and grew to love Texas. He especially looked forward each year to the blooming of the bluebonnets and taking photos together.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Kenneth Walch, Harold Walch, Leslie Overstreet, Adila Overstreet, Irene Walch, and Charlotte Pope.

He is survived by his three daughters, Tracy Mitchell and husband Raymond, Teresa Lockridge and husband John, and Sherry Walch and Kato Espinoza, his grandchildren, David, Kylee, and Byron Mitchell, Terrisa Elliott, Nicholes Colpaert, Christian Marrujo, and Faith and Ashton Deines; and his great-grandchildren, Jamie Elliott, Gunner Elliott, Harley Elliott , and Hunter Elliott, Eli Mitchell and Forest Mitchell, Liam Marrujo and Finley Marrujo and Hope and Kash Mayes.

A private family graveside service will be held at Heaven's Gateway Family Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. A full obituary will be posted when available.
