Joan Coles

Joan E. Coles, 93, of the Town f Ulster, NY, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at home. She was born April 22, 1929, in Kingston, NY to the late John W. and Mildred Osterhoudt. Joan was married to her predeceased husband, Allan Coles, on May 16, 1948. She was the Deputy Director of the Real Property Tax Service Agency for Ulster County for many years. Joan was a member of the Red Hatters in Kingston, NY, and active member of the Plattekill Reformed Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Saugerties Power Boat Association. She enjoyed riding with Allan on his Harley Davidson, boating, vacationing, and camping throughout the Northeast. Joan is survived by her children, Cathy (William) Tomaseski of Port Ewen, Patti (Bryan) Ilgner of Kingston, Jeffrey (Wendy) Coles of Kingston, her grandchildren, Devin (Christine) Tomaseski, Kristin Hartman, Lauren (George) Lamoreaux, Chad Whitmore, Travis (Ashley Story) Coles, Kayla (Brad) Gibson, Jessica (Stephen) Southern, as well as 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her sisters, Marilyn Felton, Beverly Scheffel and Rhoda Schatzel. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY, 12401 where family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 12 from 1pm to 4pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, March 13 at 10am. Burial will follow in Mt. Marion Cemetery.
