Joan LaRene (Page) Crandle, aged 89, of Troy, PA, passed away on December 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Born on June 22, 1936, the youngest of three daughters to Lyle and Arian (Kinch) Page , Joan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
A graduate of Troy High School in 1954 Joan enjoyed helping plan 70 years of class reunions. After High School Joan was employed as one of the last telephone operators in Troy, until automation replaced that friendly voice on the other end of the line. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Alba, PA. where on December 3, 1955, Joan married the love of her life, LaRue Thomas Crandle. In 1963 together they built a home that would last their lifetimes on a lot they cleared in her parents' apple orchard. There they built a life filled with love and happiness until his passing in 2009 after nearly 55 years of marriage.
Joan leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: her children Dennis (Cindy) Crandle of Troy, Calvin (Janet) Crandle of Troy and Patty Crandle of Troy. She will also be missed by her biscuit-loving dog Grady. Joan is survived by her sister Mary Lou Packard of Canton. She is also survived by her son-in-law Wade Morgan of Troy, PA. Her grandchildren include Travis Morgan of Lititz, PA, Jesse (Heather) Crandle of Zephyrhills, FL, Bradley (Amelia) Morgan of Troy, PA, Tyler Crandle of Troy, PA, and Cody Crandle of Troy, PA, they will fondly remember their grandmother’s warmth and kindness. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Claire Morgan, Tucker Morgan, Madison Morgan, Clayton Morgan, and Miles Morgan. Joan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her cherished husband LaRue, beloved daughter Pamela Morgan, sister Anita Fay and parents Lyle and Arian (Kinch) Page.
In honoring Joan’s wishes, a private service will be held at the convenience of her family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
