Joan Creevan
October 12, 1937 - April 14, 2025
Joan Creevan, born October 12, 1937 in Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away on April 14, 2025. A dedicated and resilient woman, Joan cultivated not just the land, but deep, nourishing roots of community and family. A 1954 graduate of Wymore High School, she married the love of her life, Gerald "Jerry" Creevan, on October 14, 1961. Together, they nurtured a rich life, brimming with love, respect, and shared passions.
Joan's life permeated a strong work ethic, a result of her lifelong career in agriculture. She was a pillar of dependability and strength, attributes she poured into her work, which saw her run the grain cart for harvest until the previous fall. Joan's hobbies, which included checking cows, baking, playing cards, gardening, and taking rides in her John Deere gator, were a reflection of her love for the outdoors and her vibrant community. A supportive and devoted Nebraska Volleyball fan, she also relished attending her kids' and grandkids' activities.
A faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, she found solace and strength in her faith, and in the companionship of her family, whom she cherished above all else.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mary (Ross) Trauernicht, Dave (Linda) Creevan, and Beth (James) Oltman; her grandchildren and their spouses, Alyssa (Corey) Lieneman, Justin Trauernicht, Lucas (Sami) Trauernicht, Jake Creevan (fiancée, Molly Hesnard), Zach (Kelsie) Creevan, John (Nealey) Oltman, and Erin Oltman; great-grandchildren, Tavin and Layton Lieneman, Kove Trauernicht, Bennett Creevan, and Andie Oltman; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Goes; and her loving husband, Gerald "Jerry" Creevan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Wymore. Burial will be at the Wymore Cemetery.
