Joan McDonald Davis, born on October 16, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House, following a period of declining health. She leaves behind a cherished legacy of love, dedication, and warmth that will be remembered by her family and friends.

A devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Joan was deeply connected to her faith and community. Her nurturing spirit was reflected in her many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed quilting for many years, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by those fortunate enough to receive them. A passionate cook, she was known for her culinary skills, especially her remarkable ability to create the best bread, always ensuring that her family enjoyed dessert with every meal.

Beyond her love for cooking and quilting, Joan found joy in reading and technology, often delighting in playing on her iPad. Her engaging personality made her a cherished presence in the lives of her family.

Joan was the beloved mother of three sons: Chris Stone,and his wife Janice; Tracy Stone; and Charles Davis, and his wife Adana. In addition, she is survived by her two daughters, Maura Chastain and her husband Nathan, and Liz Hopkins and her husband Allan. also surviving are eight grandchildren, Michael Stone (Felicity), Mary Anna Stone, Matt Chastain, April Campbell, Ashleigh Walton (Chris), Megan Davis, Nora Davis, Gabrielle Stone, and two great-grandchildren, Sydney Campbell and Jake Hall.

Preceded in death by her father, Michael McDonald, her mother, Anna McDonald, her husband, Charles Davis, and a son Shawn Stone. Joan leaves behind a family that will forever treasure her memory and the indelible mark she left on their lives.

A Mass in Joan's honor will be held on December 26, 2025, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Statesville, North Carolina, beginning at 1:00 PM. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, reflect, and celebrate the beautiful life of Joan McDonald Davis.
