Joan Garth Dixon

Mrs. Joan Garth Dixon was born May 11, 1940 in

Nicholasville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Sarah Katherine

and Marcellus Wesley. She departed this earthly life early Sunday

morning, January 25, 2026.

Joan attended Dunbar High School. She confessed her belief

in Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a proud member

of Greater Liberty Baptist Church. She could usually be found

sitting on the center row with her sister, Wilma Jean, singing and

praising the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Joan was also preceded in death

by her sister, Wilma Jean Wesley.

She is survived by her loving, dedicated, heart-broken

husband of five years, Harold "Big Boy" Dixon, Sr.; five step-

children, James Smith, Trina (John) Shelby, Ray (Pam) Dixon,

Harold (Tina) Dixon, Jr. and Tameka; two sisters-in-law, Betty

Layne and Linda Jones; two brothers-in-law, Walter Reese Dixon

and Trent Dixon; two God-sisters, Joyce Givens and Marcella

Walker; one God-brother, Charles Brown; her niece, Lavaina

Raglin; her nephew, Robert Wilson; as well as multiple step-

grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of loving friends.
