Albert Cipicchio Obituary

Albert Anthony Cipicchio, 70, of Winchester, VA, died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026. Born on Sept. 26, 1955, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Scappatura) Cipicchio and the husband of Mary Ann (Cmar) Cipicchio for 44 years. With wit, wisdom, and a smile, Albert devoted his life to faith, family, and community. As a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, his dedication to service in the community was unwavering. He also served as an American Red Cross volunteer, an avid blood donor, and a committed Election Day poll worker. Following Albert's graduation from Penn State University, he wrote for the Latrobe Bulletin as sports editor before dedicating 25 years to his career as an air traffic controller. In retirement, he pursued passions including golf, photography, travel, and spending time in Calabash. He followed sports throughout his life, especially Pittsburgh teams and Penn State. Albert always looked forward to Spaghetti Sunday, a tradition passed down from his Nana. He cared deeply for his family, and his smile was brightest when spending time with his grandchildren. A life well-lived, Albert's love remains in the hearts of his family and friends forever. In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, Albert is survived by three daughters, Renee (Tyler) McCabe, Aimee (Jake) Ramsay, and Sheree Cipicchio; three grandchildren, Miles, Madeline, and Mia; siblings, Michael (Beth) Cipicchio and Janet (Jim) Schoedel; nieces, cousins, and dear friends. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at OMPS FUNERAL HOME, AMHERST CHAPEL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark Mullaney celebrating. Interment will be private. A reception will follow the Mass in Muldowney Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Knights of Columbus Council 3572 at 519 S. Cameron St., Winchester, VA 22601, or the American Red Cross of the Greater Shenandoah Valley Chapter, 561 Fortress Dr., Winchester, VA 22603. Albert's family would like to share a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff at Winchester Medical Center and Shenandoah Oncology for the care and compassion they showed over the past few months. And the king will say to them in reply, "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40.
