Joan E. Dvorak
Passed away peacefully July 16, 2025, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet. Age 92 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mae Dvorak, her loving twin sister Jean Sinderson, brother Frank (Virginia) Dvorak and sister Eleanor (Edward) Lukes. Joan is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. A resident of the Carillon Community in Plainfield. Joan grew up in Berwyn, she was a graduate of St. Odilo Grammar School in Berwyn and Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, IL. Joan worked for 3M Company for 42 years before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and learning to play that game known as "bocce ball" upon moving to Carillon. Joan always enjoyed being involved in many activities in her community as well as other groups. "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it became a butterfly". Funeral services will be held at Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Monday, July 21st at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation from 10:00 AM until time of services. Private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be appreciated.
