Joan Viola Eich passed away September 15, 2025 at her home in Grangeville after a long battle with cancer. She was born on the Zumwalt Ranch near Grangeville on August 23, 1941 to
George and Edwina Paul.

Joan came from a large family. Having three brothers and five sisters, there was always something going on. They spent the summer months of their childhood in the mountains as her dad was a logger. She had many memories of playing in the hills, picking berries, and cutting wood with her siblings. She loved the great outdoors and spent every summer at Twin Cabins.

Joan married Rick Eich on November 28, 1978 and they made their home in Grangeville. Joan and Rick had five children between them, Terry, Christina (Rocky), Sherie (Aaron), Jeff and Angie.

Joan worked at several restaurants in Grangeville as a cook. After she retired, she traveled with her husband Rick who was an electrician by trade.

Joan is preceded in death by both her parents, son Terry, son-in-law Aaron, sisters Delores and Alice, brothers Jimmy, Danny and Ben.

She is survived by her husband Rick, daughters Christina, Sherie and Angie and son Jeff, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, sisters Georgia Schmadeka, Donna Fisk and Jackie Doyle.
