Joan C. Fenstermaker

Joan C. Fenstermaker,90, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 at home. She was the wife of the late Reverend Roger C. Fenstermaker. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Bishop Harold H. and Carolyn (Kichline) Scanlin. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus. After graduating from Cedar Crest College, she worked as a school teacher at Lebanon High School teaching shorthand. She also taught in the Catasauqua and Lehighton districts. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Glenn Moyer, at the Center for Cataract & Refractive Surgery. She will be remembered as an avid Phillies fan for over 80 years, after attending her first game at Shibe Park. She loved her cats and dogs and enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and the Western US.
Survivors: sister in law, Lenore Scanlin of Allentown; nephew John Scanlin; nieces Susan, wife of Joseph Mazza and Jill, wife of Richard Shupp. She was predeceased by her brother Rev. Harold P. Scanlin and nephew Jason Fenstermaker.
Services: 11:30 AM, Friday, April 25 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St. Allentown. Calling hour will begin at 10:30 AM.
