Joan Elizabeth Fields, 84, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.
A memorial service to honor Joan’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26 at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Joan was born on October 27, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Basile and Marianne Pannullo. Her devout Catholic faith was the guiding force in her life. She found peace and strength in her beliefs, attending mass regularly, participating in sacraments, and engaging in prayer. Her faith influenced her decisions, actions, and interactions with others, shaping her character and values.
Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved knitting, playing solitaire, cooking, and coloring and she always had a love for her animals.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cindy Tumi (Jose) of Ocala, FL and JonAnn E. Russell (Randy) of Pelletier, NC; sons, David Fields of Ash, NC, Tony Fields (Cindy), and Thomas Fields (Debra Morton), both of Newport, NC; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and grand-dogs, Abel and Nikki.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Vienna Fields.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
