Joan Marie Grego, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021, in Washington Hospital. She was born February 27, 1936, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Flamm Klosky.
Joan was a 1954 graduate of Canonsburg High School. After graduating she worked as a secretary.
She met the love of her life, Wallace Grego Sr., and they married August 20, 1955, from then on she worked in her home, taking care of her family, which was the most important thing to her in the world.
Joan cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and also enjoyed playing cards. She was a member of a card club for more than 50 years and a member of the St. Patrick worship site of St. Oscar Romero Parish.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Wallace Grego Sr.; three sons, Wallace (Barbara) Grego Jr. of Washington, Mark Grego of Eighty Four and Timothy (Kimberly) Grego of Houston; grandchildren Brittany and Sage Grego; great-grandson Asher Grego; brother Thomas (Catherine) Klosky of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 18, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited a 11:40 a.m. Monday, April 19, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. in the St. Patrick worship site of St. Oscar Romero Parish.
Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are still required to be worn in the funeral home and church.
