Joan Grubach Obituary
Joan Elizabeth Grubach (nee Sweatt) 79, beloved wife of Nicholas Grubach Jr. passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 1, 2025. Joan created a circle of strength and love, guided by her faith and dedication to family that will be carried on by her children and grandchildren.
Joan and Nicholas were married for 56 years blessed with 9 children, 31 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Joan is the loving mother of Catherine E. Grubach Dever (Richard), Nicholas M., Cynthia A., Alexander M. (d), David C. (Rachel), Deborah M., Ethan D. (Julia), Alexis M., and Victoria S. Horgan (Brian); devoted grandmother of Matthew J. (Jacqueline), Joshua R., Nicholas M., Samuel A. (Audrey), Benjamin P., Nicholas M. II, Daniel A. (Morgan), Zachary M. (Hannah), Sean P. Jr., Elizabeth R., David C. Jr., Benjamin A., Nathan J., Sarah A., Jacob S., Catherine E., Samuel H., Rebecca A., Alexandria M., Ethan D. II, Victoria L. (Nathan), Nikoletta M., Jocelynn J., Jacob N., Daelyn M., Gabriel A., Josephine E., Bear P., Giuliana M., Daniela V., and Vincenzo A.; caring great-grandmother of Matthew J. II, Luka S., Matthew J., Harper A., Roman A., and Francesca E.; daughter of Kirby and Alma Sweatt; sister of Neal Sweatt, Arthur T. Sweatt, Roland Sweatt, Margaret Gorsline, Dorothy Taylor, Nina Fisher, and Edith Holzheimer.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Jakubs & Son Funeral Home 936 E. 185th Street Cleveland, OH 44119.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 8 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 4129 Superior Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103.
Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery 10366 Chardon Rd. Chardon, OH 44024. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joan, please visit our floral store.
