Frank Grubach Obituary

SCHERERVILLE, IN - Frank W. Grubach, 86 of Schererville, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret T. (Pieters) Grubach who passed away April 30, 2004; loving father of Christopher (Violeta Furduric) Grubach, Julie (Joseph) Prieboy, Susan (Kevin) Walsh and Mary Jane (Todd) Schermer; cherished grandfather of Emily, Graham, Lauren, Will, Kate "Kiki", Michael, Greg and Olivia; dear brother-in-law of the late Phyllis (Late Ralph) McCampbell, Dorothy (late Thomas) Pieters, JoAnne (late Joseph) Pieters and Carol (late Raymond) Pieters; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Grubach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, with the Rev. Keith M. Virus, officiating; interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point. Visitation at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:15 a.m. to time of services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the BARAN FUNERAL HOME, 1235-119th St., Whiting. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com.
Frank Grubach was born on October 4, 1936 to Frank and Mary (Molson) Grubach and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1954 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Purdue University, LaFayette, IN. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Griffith, a US Army Veteran and was a retiree of Temple Steel with a service of 20 years. Frank enjoyed Purdue Basketball, playing golf, gardening and was an avid reader of history. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the ALS Foundation, would be appreciated. (219) 659-4400.
