Joan Lou Harvey

Joan Lou Harvey, 85, of Battle Creek, died February 9. 2016. Joan was born July 29, 1930 in Battle Creek to Edward and Helen (Willis) Fisher. She grew up on a farm and loved riding her horse, Chessnut. Joan graduated from B.C. Central High School and later worked as a supervisor at Post Gardens, retiring in 1998. Joan was an artist and an active member of the Red Hat Ladies, liked doing puzzles and meeting for lunch once a month with the other retirees from Post Gardens. Joan is survived by her two daughters, Lavon (Rick) Harrison and Lisa Harvey; two sons, Edward Harvey and Kim (Donna) Harvey; her grandchildren, Misty Harrison, Scott Harvey, Nick Harvey, John Harvey, Shannon Harvey, Manda Harvey, Cody Davison, Colt VanVleet; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; daughter-in-law Cindy Harvey and Lori Wilson and her good friend, Uniss Meyers. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Harvey; son, Donald D. Harvey; daughter, Melanie A. Harvey; granddaughter, Mitzi Harrison and her best friend, Wanita Sass. A celebration of Joan's life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at the Bent Tree Hall 59 Laura Ln, Battle Creek, MI 49037 - Off Bedford Rd. (please bring a dish to pass if possible).
