Joan Stickley Hilker, 92 of McDonald, Robinson Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Victoria Manor, Oakdale.
Joan was born on February 3, 1933 in Carnegie, a daughter of the late John and Ella Gertrude Madden Stickley.
Ms. Hilker was a member of St. Columbkille Church in Imperial. Joan loved her church and attending Mass always put her in the perfect mindset for the entire week. Joan loved hosting her family and friends for holidays and other events. With her large family her house was always full and that was just the way Joan liked it. She would spend hours cleaning her home and cooking, as she enjoyed both greatly it was never seen as a chore. As she worked around the house, outside planting flowers or on her almost weekly rides to the Dollar Store to shop, one thing remained, Joan always had music playing. From Rod Stewart to Johnny Cash, she listened to it all.
Her entire world was centered around her family. Joan loved her girls dearly and their husbands she absolutely cherished. Joan was so thrilled to have boys of her own. As grandchildren came along, Joans heart grew even more. Really with each new generation that came along Joan found a way to give more love to even the tiniest member. Joans grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren kept her young. They always found a way to make her laugh and gave her such a fun filled and happy life. She was not your average grandma, she was better and needed the perfect name to represent just how special she was. Her grandchildren gifted her the name "Twinkle" and soon she became known as Twinkle to everyone. If you ever were so fortunate to spend even just an hour with Joan, your life was changed for the better. She truly was the kindest, most loving woman you would ever meet. Heaven is very lucky to have Joan, who was already an angel on earth.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathleen (Brian) Logut, Diane (Victor) Pershina and Karen (Leo) Mincin, grandchildren, Jessica (Matthew) Skvarj, Eric (Nicole) Logut, Stephaine (Domonic) Nolfi, Joseph (Keleigh) Pershina, Steven (fiancé Allie Senn) Mincin and Zachery Mincin, great grandchildren, Matyson, Harper and Tessa Skvarj, Brayden and Callie Logut, Alivia Mincin and Jackson Pershina, and sisters, Nancy Hancock and Patricia Renshaw.
Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Hilker, and brothers, Charles Stickley and Martin Stickley.
