Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Greenridge Chapel - GreenfieldJoan M. Jackson, a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at the venerable age of 86. Born on December 3, 1939, Joan's life was a tapestry of joy, laughter, and unwavering kindness that touched everyone she encountered.
Joan's journey through life was shared with her devoted partner and best friend of over two decades, José Martinez. Their love story was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and countless shared adventures. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, a haven for family and friends.
A beloved mother, Joan's legacy is carried on by her daughter, Mary Kerr, lovingly supported by her fiancé, Doug Storms. Joan's spirit of compassion and generosity lives on through her grandchildren, David Watters and his partner Jessica Newton, Mandy Hartung and her husband Ross, and Kaliey and Kodey Kerr, who will forever cherish the moments spent with their grandmother. Joan's great-granddaughters, Maddie and Ellie, were blessed to know their great-grandmother's tender love and will continue to be inspired by her memory.
Joan was the cherished sister of Carol Booher, Lynn (George) Robertson, the late Warren Thein, and Johnny Ottmann, who, together with their families, shared a bond of unwavering support and affection. The family gatherings, filled with Joan's laughter and storytelling, will be dearly missed but always remembered.
Professionally, Joan's commitment to excellence was evident in her over twenty years of dedicated service at the energy company. Her work ethic and collaborative spirit left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the industry. Joan's involvement in association activities further highlighted her passion for her profession and her desire to contribute to the community.
Joan's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. An artist at heart, she loved to paint and draw, capturing the beauty of the world in her unique way. Her zest for life was evident in her enjoyment of simple pleasures like walking, visiting the mall, and her famous "bumming around" Target trips with the girls. But above all, Joan cherished spending time with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Joan's love for frogs was more than a quirky interest; it was a reflection of her ability to find joy in the small wonders of life. Her collection of frog memorabilia brought smiles to many and will serve as a fond reminder of her playful spirit.
Describing Joan as funny, loving, and kind only begins to scratch the surface of the remarkable woman she was. Her humor was a gift that could lift spirits and spread happiness. Her loving nature was a comfort to all, and her kindness was a light that shone brightly, even in the darkest of times.
Joan M. Jackson's life was a journey filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of kindness. As we say goodbye to this incredible woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will continue through the lives of those she touched. Her memory will forever be a source of joy and inspiration, a reminder to live each day with a full heart and a generous spirit. Joan will be dearly missed, but her laughter, love, and the profound kindness she embodied will remain with us always.
