Joan Marie Jaeger

Dateline Goffstown, NH Joan Marie Seaman Jaeger passed away August 3, 2013 in Goffstown NH after a period of failing health at the age of 83. She was born September 11, 1929 in Hempstead, L.I., N.Y., daughter of Wilbur E. Seaman and Viola Wylie Seaman. She enjoyed a happy childhood in Hempstead, with summers spent at the family camp in Rocky Point, L.I. where she was surrounded by the love and laughter of her large extended family. Her love of music, art and books carried her through her high school years and continued her entire life. In 1956 she married Frank R. Jaeger and they made their home first in Huntington, L.I. NY where both of their children were born and then in Syosset L.I., NY before moving to New England in 1967. In 1969 they arrived in Goffstown, NH where they established their roots and made friendships that endure to this day. Throughout her life, Joan happily filled her days with painting, drawing, needlework and her love of reading. She always made good friends wherever she went. Joan was predeceased by her parents, her brother Allan and in 2002 by her husband Frank. She will always be loved and missed by her daughter and son-in-law Gretchen and Michael Gudefin; her son and daughter-in-law Karl and Linda Jaeger; her grandchildren Natalie, Andrea and Andrea's fiancé Makoto Hirata. She also leaves behind her beloved brother Ken Seaman-and his wife Mag of Denver CO, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday 10:00AM at St. Lawrence Church of Goffstown. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery of Grasmere.
