Joan Harriette June, a beacon of faith and love, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 86 in Bloomingburg. Born on December 2, 1938, in Middletown, Joan's life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication, and the joy of simple pleasures.
A lifelong Christian, Joan's commitment to her faith was evident in her role as the dedicated organist at the Methodist Church of Ridgebury, where she uplifted the spirits of many with her music for decades. Her melodies resonated within the walls of the church and the hearts of its congregation
Joan was preceded in passing by her mother, father, and sister, but leaves behind the memories and love with her five children: Irene, Richard, David, Diane, and Linda. Her twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Joan's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. Her home was a haven for her beloved cats, her flourishing gardens, and the birds she delighted in feeding. The chirping of birds and the purring of her cats were the soundtrack to her days, and her care for these creatures was a reflection of her boundless capacity to love and nurture.

A visitation will be held at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM. A funeral service will commence at 11:30 AM.
