Alexander June Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perry Funeral Home - Newark on Feb. 19, 2026.
Alexander Reaves Jr. (June) was born on January 13, 1940, in Wilson County, Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Alexander Reaves Sr. and Lorraine Reaves (Bethea). He was the second of nine children. He transitioned peacefully on February 18, 2026.

Alexander received his education in the Wilson County, Rocky Mount public school system where he was known for his quiet strength, loyalty, and dedication.

Alexander was married to the late Suzy Reaves. Alexander was a dedicated employee at Command Web Offset Company, a major commercial printer in Secaucus, NJ, until he retired.

Some of us called him June and some called him Junior. He had a reserved nature. After he retired, he found joy in landscaping work, he also loved good TV shows. It was hard to describe my big brother June, he had the best memory about everything, mostly about family. He had a big heart. He also was a good cook.

Alexander Reaves, Jr. (June) leaves to cherish precious memories: siblings: Nellie Reaves (John) Cunningham and Carolyn Reaves Wood; sisters-in law: Mary Reaves and Carol Reaves; best friends: Brad Staten and Alexander Purnell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Reaves Sr. and Lorraine Reaves; his wife, Suzy Reaves; sisters, Vera (BJ) Conley, Barbara Jean (Leonard) Chalmers and Lena "Pearl" Reaves; and brothers, Cleveland (Edna), Thomas "Doc" and James C. Reaves.

This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Alexander Reaves Jr. Leave a message on the Tribute Wall to share your favorite memories and offer words of sympathy and comfort.
