Joan Blakeslee Kendrick, an adored wife, mother, and grandma, passed away unexpectedly on
September 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 2, 1958, in Logan, Utah to Richard and
Frances (Keller) Blakeslee. Joan was raised in Roy, Utah but spent many summers in Mink
Creek, Idaho with her grandparents. She later moved to West Point in 1991, where she continued
to reside.
Joan graduated from Roy High School and continued her education at Weber State University.
On September 7, 1979, she married Larry Kendrick, and together they welcomed two daughters,
Rachel and Kate. Together with her husband, they founded and operated Wasatch Metal
Finishing, which later became a family affair.
Joan loved traveling with her family, especially with her girls. Together, they were the three
musketeers and explored so many new places together. She found joy in simple pleasures, which
included her love for gambling (the woman loved her slot machines), quilting, lunches with her
friends, her animals, enjoying a new TV series, and going for rides in her Mercedes convertible
with her husband.
Joan cherished her time with family and friends more than anything else, creating lasting
memories filled with love and laughter. Among those she held closest to her heart was her sweet
grandson, Carter, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate spirit, whose laughter and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met. Joan's legacy will continue through the countless memories she created with her loved ones and the impact she had on those close to her.
Joan is survived by her loving Husband, Larry Kendrick; her two daughters, Rachel Kendrick of
West Point, Kate (Brandon) Burke of West Point, and her Grandson, Carter. She is also survived
by two Brothers, Joel Blakeslee of Sparks, NV, and John (Kaylynn) Blakeslee of Roy, UT, as well as nieces and many friends she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Richard and Frances Blakeslee, and her Grandparents, Claude and Elma Keller, and Richard and
Vida Blakeslee.
Graveside services were held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hooper City Cemetery. 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper, UT.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local animal shelter, as she loved animals, and that was especially important to her.
