Joan KathyLowe, a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence, passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on August 28, 1951, Joan was the embodiment of fun, love, and resilience. Throughout her life, she epitomized strength, demonstrating unwavering support and affection to those around her.
Joan devoted much of her career to serving others at K-Mart's café and Little Caesar's "Grandma Caesar's", where her warmth and engaging spirit left a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, Joan found joy in activities that allowed her to express her creativity and passion. She loved sewing and crocheting, each stitch woven with affection, and was an avid reader who found adventures and solace within the pages of countless books.
Above all, Joan was a loving matriarch who adored her family. She made every moment spent with her grandchildren special; Adam, Megan (Joe), Morgan (Jahmyl), Aaron, Noah (Anna), and Ella were the lights of her life, bringing her immeasurable joy and pride. As her family grew, so did her love, extending to her great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Kinsley, Wyatt, Ember, and Lucy, whom she cherished deeply.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband, William T. Lowe; her children, William Troy Lowe III (Tracy) and Jason Lowe (Stephanie); her brother, Jerry August (Jeanie); her sisters-in-law, Sharon Lowe, Barbara Lowe, and Darla August; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure her memory and the moments they shared with her.
She was predeceased by her mother, Betty August; her father, Leo August Sr.; her mother-in-law, Pauline Lowe; and her siblings: Jeanie, Tony, and Leo. Though they have departed, their spirits, like her love, will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Joan Kathy Lowe leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Her impact on the lives of those she touched will be felt for generations, as they carry forward the vibrant spirit she imparted on all of them. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Joan will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery on Friday, 118 Woodland Ave., February 6, 2026 at 3:00pm. Please meet the family at the gate to follow back to her gravespace.
