Scott Lee Shively, age 52, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away on January 30, 2026 in hospice care after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife Sarah, and his girls Abby and Carmen were by his side till the end.

Born on April 17, 1973, Scott grew up in Brookville and graduated from Brookville High School in 1991. He was a devoted husband to Sarah Shively and a loving father to Abigail and Carmen. He was very hard working and dedicated. He spent almost 30 years working as a CNC Machinist, where he was liked by everyone he worked with. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. He always attended every school and sporting event for Abby and Carmen. Though Scott may not have liked being the center of attention, his daughters want everyone to know what a wonderful father he was and to honor the impact he made on their lives. He was a man who would do anything for you if he could and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He also had a good sense of humor and loved joking around. Scott enjoyed motorcycle rides with his wife Sarah, playing Mario Kart with Abby & Ethan, watching The Rookie with his girls, building remote control planes with Carmen, and he enjoyed it when we all came together to help with Christmas decorations outside. He looked forward to decorating and would start making plans in January for the next Christmas. He added more lights each year trying to outdo his previous efforts and trying to see how far he could go before a fuse blew. When he would come home from work he would ask Sarah a direction, distance and type of food, then they would just get on the bike and go. Scott and Sarah loved checking out different places to try. One of their favorites was the Bank House Cafe. His love for adventures was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on them that will never fade.

He is survived by Sarah, his wife of 28 years and his daughters Abigail Evans (Ethan) and Carmen Shively (Thomas Burns). He is also survived by his father David Shively (Janet Ricketts), mother Pat Szucs (Craig), siblings Angela Fox (Mike), Michelle MacIver (Cody), Chris Shively (Stephanie), and stepsiblings Mike Szucs (Traci) and Julie Szucs (Devin Stringer) as well as many nieces and nephews along with many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by stepmother Patricia Shively, step sister Jodi Miller, grandparents Lloyd and Glenna Shively, grandparents James and Therese Crowe, step grandparents Nicholas and Miriam Szucs and cousin Lezlie Shively.

His family finds comfort in knowing that Scott’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught them, the love he shared and the memories they will cherish forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Scott by spending time with those you love, just as he always did. Take an adventure with your family. Find a new mom and pop place to eat and tip big!
