Joan Mack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2026.
Joan B. Mack, 90, of Kingston passed away peacefully on April 1st at Allied Skilled Rehabilitation Center in Wilkes-Barre. She was born January 15, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Rose Barthlemas and Paul Berdy. Joan was a graduate of Kingston High School. She immediately began a forty-two year career at Bell Telephone, working her way up from a clerk to an account manager. Joan also began her labor of love, a thirty-five year association with the Kingston Pool, a place where she was involved in all aspects of the pool operations. This was never a job, but her "Labor of Love". In later years, Joan worked as an aide at the WVW Middle School, working with several teachers and many wonderful students.

Joan cherished her family, and her extended family. She enjoyed her yearly beach vacations with family and friends. Everyone was always welcome when the Mack family made their yearly trek to OCNJ.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, Len, her sister, Doris Saracino, and her favorite daughter-in-law, Debbie. She is survived by the pride of her life, her three sons; Leonard, Jr. (Chip) and Kenny, both of Kingston, and Gary of Millsboro, DE. Joan was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, and now grand nieces and grand nephews, and her adopted grandson, Bobby, all of whom she adored.

Family and friends are invited from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, April 4th at Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 5th at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Interment will be held following the mass at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.
