Joan C. Monroe

Joan C. Monroe 78 of Ravenna passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at Medina Hospice Care. She was born April 21, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to Peter and Esther (Basel) Damkov. Joan worked as a secretary for the Naval Reserves, the Brecksville VA Hospital and Robinsn Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her children Michael Brna, Brian Brna and Tabitha (Meredith) Monroe, grandchildren Haleigh Brna, Chris Brna, Allyson Brna and Riley Monroe-Holbrook, great grandchildren Aura Jones and Sage Jones and brothers John (Jody) Kovolyan and Joe (Patricia) Kovolyan. Her stepson Matthew (Kathleen) Monroe and his daughter Megan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Monroe, a sister Carol Ann Stemple and brothers Jerry and Jim Kovolyan. Calling hours will be from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the funeral home with Wayne Enders officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
