Joan F. Moran, 84, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Anna and James Parise.
Joan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Steve Moran; four daughters, Lora Shildt (Kevin), Lynn Schultz (Ron), Dena Caracciolo (Drew), and Sharon Rick (Rob); nine grandchildren, Michael, Megan, and Melina Shildt, Molly (Mike) Callas, Katie (Ty) Schultz, Anthony and Mia Caracciolo, and Shelby and Sadie Rick; and one great- grandchild, Matthew Callas. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce McGrady and Janet Minsterman, and one brother, Jim Parise, as well as a beloved extended family.
Joan attended St. George Catholic School for 12 years and graduated from Robert Morris. She started her career at Duquesne Light and retired after 20 years with Bayer. She was a long- time resident of Scott Township and lived the last 4 years at Chartiers Bend in Bridgeville. Joan was a devoted parishioner of Sts. Simon & Jude Church and an active member of Christian Mothers.
She was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. She was cherished by many friends including her Cherrydell neighbors, Bayer lunch ladies, but most of all her family who were the center of her world.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township, 412-563-2800. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11 AM in Sts. Simon and Jude Church, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, 1607 Greentree Road. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
