Joan Morris Obituary
Joan Ethel Morris passed away on November 19, 2025, in Odessa, TX.
She was born in Waukegan, IL on April 29, 1934, to William and Ethel Hovanec. She married James Thomas Morris on December 30, 1956.
Joan worked in Odessa TX for Texas Department of Human Services as a case manager for 31 years till she retired in 1999.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one nephew (Ryan Diaz).
Joan is survived by her son Mike Morris of Odessa, daughters Kathy Diaz (Vick) of Amarillo, Karen Price (Sonny) (Orange Grove) and sister Ruth Bell of Gainesville VA; many grand and great grandchildren along with one niece.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Sherwood, Interim Hospice, Trinity Personal Assistant Services and Faithful Journey Home Care for all the loving care they took of Joan over the last years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society of Odessa in Joan’s name.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday November 24, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa.
