Joan Lee Nobbe passed away on January 24, 2026, in Dallas Center Iowa. Joan was born on April 28, 1945, near Charter Oak Iowa. She was the daughter of Herbert and Lola (Goslar) Sievers. She was baptized in Christ on May 20, 1945, and confirmed in her faith on March 22, 1959, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Joan attended Charter Oak - Ute High School and later moved to Sioux City. She worked as a nursing assistant at St. Luke’s Hospital.
On August 5, 1967, Joan married Norman Nobbe. To this union, two children were born, Norma Jo and Christi. She was also the loving mother to three stepchildren including Pam, Dexter, and Don. Joan lived most of her adult life in Sioux City Iowa, but her heart remained with her family farm near Charter Oak. She was a caregiver for her entire family. After caring for her husband Norman, until his passing, she moved back to Charter Oak to care for her mother Lola. She found peace in her faith and was an active member of the church through Vacation Bible School, Ladies Aid, and especially quilting. She always had a passion for crafts, reading and gardening. She loved traveling and would take yearly trips with her family. Her greatest pride and endless joy came from the unique talents and unforgettable experiences of her three granddaughters, Amaya, Sanya, and Lizzie.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Herbert and Lola; husband Norman; brother, Larry; and many in-laws.
Survivors include her daughters: Norma Jo Majerus of Waukee, Iowa and Christi Kejriwal (Anup) of Seattle, Washington; three granddaughters: Amaya Kejriwal, Sanya Kejriwal, and Lizzie Majerus; three stepchildren: Pam Nobbe, Dexter Nobbe, and Don Nobbe, and other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the caring staff at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, and St. Croix Hospice for the support in her final days.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak.
