Joan R. Rickerman, 82 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Joan was born on July 10, 1943, in Watertown, the daughter of Harold and Geraldine (Schoenwetter) Hollatz. She attended school in the area and graduated from Watertown High School. On September 22, 1962, Joan was united in marriage with Gaynor “Butch” Rickerman at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Watertown and they shared over 50 years together until his passing in 2018. For many years, Joan worked as a line operator for Silgan. In her free time, Joan enjoyed playing bingo at the Watertown VFW Hall, watching game shows on TV, and doing puzzles. She enjoyed gambling and took many trips to Vegas with her sister-in-law and her family. Above all else, Joan’s family was her entire world, and she treasured time spent with her only son and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Joan is survived by: her son Lee (Trudy) Rickerman; grandchildren Christopher (Courtney) Hoeppner, Kimberlee (Brad Vogel) Rickerman, and Nicole (Lee) Zins; great-grandchildren Fiona and Leonard Hoeppner; twin sister Jane Hollatz; and special cousin Darlene Nicodemus. Joan is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, husband Butch, brother Harold (Judy) Hollatz Jr., and other relatives.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. James Backus presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Joan will be laid to rest at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia following the service.
If desired, memorials in Joan’s name can be made to St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Watertown or to Rainbow Hospice.
