Joan Robson Obituary
Born in Brighton, New York, to Helen and James Soles, she was raised in East Rochester by her mother, whom she called her hero. While in college, Joan joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after careful study and personal conviction. Her faith became a guiding force in her life, and she served faithfully in many church roles throughout the years at both the ward and stake levels. She met her husband, Kent E. Robson and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. They shared a life of love and adventure, living in Germany, Poland, and California before settling in Logan. Joan always expressed gratitude that she was able to live in such a beautiful place.
Joan earned her degree in Sociology from Utah State University in 1989, graduating summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was known for her gentle spirit, devotion to family, compassion for others, and quick sense of humor. She especially loved genealogy, reading, family traditions, and making her famous Texas sheet cake.
She is survived by her husband, Kent; children Kara (Dave), Kevin (Torri), Heather (John), and Amber (Ryan); 17 living grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers; and her grandson, Kade Robson Christiansen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at 1550 E 1900 N in North Logan, with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment at Plain City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.allenmortuaries.com.
