Joan Mary Schultheis, nee Prieb, age 91, longtime resident of Elmhurst, died January 3, 2026.
For 32 years Joan taught second and third grade in Elmhurst, she loved the arts, nature, classical music and painting. She was also an avid golfer and would often let people know that she could "hit straight and keep up". She had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful grandmother. Joan was a proud alum of DePauw University and a graduate of Morgan Park High School where she helped organize her class reunions for many years. She was honored with the Directors Award for recognition of her dedication and volunteer work at Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve where she was a docent for many years. She was also a proud member of P.E.O.
Wife of the late Richard A. Schultheis (2010). Mother of R. Todd (Paula) Schultheis, Lauren (the late Don, 2021) Brasko, Timothy (Daniel) Schultheis, and Chris (Lynette) Schultheis. Grandmother of Christopher (Claudia) Brasko, Jordan (Camden) Brasko, D. Scott (Jenna) Brasko, Timothy Brasko, Jenna (Cail) Redden & Anne (Braden) Stuart. Great Grandmother of Owen Brasko, Mateo Brasko, and Lily Stuart.
