Joan M. Sheraski passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke.
Born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Stanko Balut. Joan was the longtime owner of Pizza II in Plains Township, proudly running the business for over twenty-five years. She was also a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Plains Township. Together with her husband Charlie, she enjoyed bus trips to New York City, Atlantic City, as well as walking in nature.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by husband, Charles; infant daughter, Joanne; sisters, Irene Kalinowski and Marian Brzycki; son-in-law, Ernest Burke.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Hall and husband, Michael; Diane Burke and companion, Charles Reisser; grandsons, Michael, Eric, Adam, Jared, Jason (Stephanie), Cory; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her feline companion, Callie.
In keeping with Joan's wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. We will celebrate Joanie's life at a future date.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains Township.

We are so sorry for your loss. Joanie was an amazing grandma and great grandma! Owen says she was his "pretty grandma" because he always wore her lipstick and she'll be missed so much!
