Joan M. Stewart Newcomer

Joan M. Stewart Newcomer, 93 of New Stanton, PA passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2025 in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville with her son by her side. She was born in Connellsville on August 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Emery C. Stewart and Mildred Miller Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Wayne M. Newcomer on June 26, 1997. Joan was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1950. She retired in 1991 from the J.C. Penny Co., located at the former Greengate Mall. She was a former member of the Central Methodist Church of Connellsville. Surviving is her loving son, Ronald Wayne Newcomer, which whom she resided; a sister, Shirley Stewart Harshman and brother-in-law, William Baldwin and she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Janet Stewart Baldwin, Gertrude Stewart Etling and brothers, William, Robert and Emery Stewart, Jr. Honoring her wishes, her will be no visitation, services or memorials. Her interment will be with her husband in Green Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank or a charity of ones choice in memory of Joan M. Stewart Newcomer.
