Joan Marie Strelow

Joan died in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, on December 14, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Cheryl Smith. She was born on November 1, 1926, to Joseph and Edna (McClean) Casetta in Antigo, Wisconsin. She was married to her first husband, Ralph Grunniwaldt, in 1945 and later married Ernest Strelow in 1956.

Joan spent many years working as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Tilleda, Wisconsin. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, music and spending time with family, who will miss her dearly. She loved animals, particularly her dear cat, Cooper. In her later years, she split her year between Dexter, Michigan, with her daughter, Stacie, and Fort Myers Beach, Florida, with her daughter, Cheryl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Strelow; brother Duane (Margaret) Casetta; sister Rita (Milton) Long; and son-in-law, David Smith.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Smith, Greg (Aida) Mathers, Brad (Veronica) Grunniwaldt and Stacie (Brian) Rose; grandchildren Jamie (Fareed) Guyot, Amber (Bobby Heebner) Rose, Heather Rose, Antonio (Kate) Oliver, Michael Oliver, Jessica Oliver and nine great-grandchildren.
