Mrs. Joan R. Transeau, 82, a long-time resident of Mosquito Valley, PA., died on Friday, January 12, 2024, at ManorCare Health Services Williamsport North, Williamsport, PA.
Joan was born on August 11, 1941, in Williamsport, PA. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Jean (Brady) Schmouder of Williamsport, PA.
Joan attended Williamsport High School; she went on to work as a Clerk for Sylvania Electronics. After retirement, she worked part-time at The Williamsport Women's Club.
She was a Good News Bible Church member in Williamsport, PA.
Joan was a friend to everyone; she was kind and gracious; she was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. She loved her family so much and loved time with her grandkids.
Joan married the love of her life, the late Donald "Butch" Transeau, in Maryland on January 11, 1963; they were married for 61 years. They enjoyed long car rides together; they were the best of friends; they enjoyed meeting friends in various coffee groups at McDonalds and Burger King, where they sat for hours enjoying the good times.
Joan and Donald "Butch" were always holding hands and were the perfect couple with a great lifetime relationship. They are now together again.
Joan is survived by her three children, Donald "Butch" Transeau, Jr. of Williamsport; her daughter Kim Transeau of Duboistown; and her daughter Stacey L. Transeau of Duboistown.
Also surviving are her four grandchildren. Griffynn Metzger, of Williamsport; Ellie Metzger; Riley Carballo; and Emily Carballo of Duboistown. And her sister Linda Reaser of Williamsport.
